Our Medical Philosophy

Intellectual humility.

Our approach to medicine is underpinned by intellectual humility, defined as the understanding and acceptance of one's knowledge limits, the willingness to learn from others, and the readiness to change one's mind based on new evidence or perspectives. We view evidence-based medicine as the absolute foundation of medicine, yet we acknowledge that traditional practices may not hold all answers and the landscape of medicine is ever-growing. Recognizing the unique tapestry that is each patient, we understand that standard protocols may not fit everyone.

As an autonomous individual, you possess unique insights, ambitions, and objectives. We respect your right to choose your treatment, based on your preferences, and strive to empower you in making the best decisions for your health.

We are ever mindful that the field of medicine continually evolves. My responsibility is to lay the groundwork for understanding a problem, offer solutions and resources, and discuss risks versus benefits to help patients make informed decisions. I will offer my professional opinion on the best course of action, but ultimately, the decision is yours. I am here to guide and support you in making the best choice for your wellbeing.

Accessibility.

Communication is the heartbeat of the patient-physician relationship. Our direct primary care model allows us to prioritize what we should be doing first: listening to you. We strive to provide timely responses to all your questions and concerns related to your healthcare. We want you to feel secure in the knowledge that we are responsive and available when you need us.

Transparency.

We also uphold the principle of providing you with a clear understanding of your healthcare costs. Unlike many insurance-based practices, where the cost structures can be complex and opaque (often due to systemic constraints rather than the clinics themselves), we promise full transparency. You will not encounter hidden costs or unexpected bills with us. Instead, you'll have a clear picture of all costs upfront as our pricing is clearly listed on this website.

Cost-effective.

Time is as valuable as money therefore your time is a valuable commodity. We firmly believe that the time you spend in our clinic should be spent on your healthcare, not on waiting. We know that you have other responsibilities - a job to return to, a business to run, children to care for - and we are committed to ensuring that your healthcare does not become another obstacle in your busy day. We also want to save you from making unnecessary trips to clinic for routine matters such as prescription refills or discussing lab results.

Address medication burden.

We firmly believe that medications should only be prescribed for specific reasons to prevent overmedication and avoid treating side effects with additional medication. We should continuously assess whether medications are still needed throughout patient’s lifetime, aiming to reduce medication burden whenever possible. This is not to say that we are against using pharmacological treatments. Modern medicine has enabled us to manage acute and chronic conditions in ways that were unimaginable in the past. However, this progress has also led to the prevalence of polypharmacy and extensive medication lists.
